Purification of Pharmaceutical API’s, Intermediates, and Fermentation Broths

Removal of reaction by-products, including color bodies and metals, is a critical step in producing high quality pharmaceuticals and intermediates. Ecosorb® multi-functional adsorbents are a family of highly efficient adsorbents combining the rapid kinetics of fine particles with excellent filtration characteristics.

Ecosorb powders can be used in a stirred reactor, or as a precoat or deep bed operating mode, where the adsorbent is added directly to the filter, eliminating contamination of the reaction vessel. Formulations include moist versions, suitable for aqueous systems, as well as low-moisture versions suitable for organic solvents. Since each reaction/solvent system is unique, Graver provides a “sample kit”, containing a broad range of adsorbent types for screening specific applications.

Graver’s new Ecosorb PAK™ adsorbent cartridges are available in equivalent formulations to many of the carbon and silica based C-Series Ecosorb products. E-PAK cartridges can be operated in Graver-supplied housings or in many commonly used industrial style filter housings, either directly, or with retrofit kits from Graver. Ecosorb PAK adsorbent cartridges improve product recovery, eliminate reactor vessel and filter clean up, greatly simplify adsorptive purification operations, and improve safety and handling. Contact Graver for further details.
